“Brian Kinney is a slut.”
QaF fandom: Omigod, that is so accurate. He’s such a slut and Justin’s such a slut and I love them for it. They are my slutty, slutty OTP. May they live in slutty bliss together for the rest of their slutty…

wut.
Okay, I’m not even going to get into the reclaiming slut argument. I am just baffled, and baffled is a massive understatement tbh, that you can say
If someone truly doesn’t want to slut shame, then they shouldn’t shame other people for claiming a sex positive usage of the word “slut”.
with a straight face. Slut shaming has never meant that. Ever. And you do not get to assign some random definition of what slut shaming ‘truly’ means just because people are being mean to you (and by this fandom’s standards, they’re being quite civil).
Also, people need to stop using this quote
“Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.”
whenever they’re getting shit for their opinions. This quote is meant to apply to people who cannot change what they are - whether it be a dwarf, a bastard or whatever else society deems undesirable - not to people who are too dimwitted to understand why they are wrong or else too stubborn to admit it.
This probably adds nothing, but Brian Kinney didn’t armor himself in sluttiness, he confronted his inner self, his desires, his nature and his core being and decided he would never let himself be weighed down by imaginary guilt or ever apologize for he was. No matter what Instead, he would revel in it.
Slut
Fag
Queer
Bring it on.
In his case, he was a slut, yes, but when it came to Justin his motto wasn’t “The sluttiest queer you can be” but the “best queer you can be”
Sure Brian isn’t an admirable person, but you’re not meant to like him.
His message of “never apologize for yourself” is easy if you’re just one of the “norms” on any given issue, but if you’re something harder to defend, like a massive slutty douche who hurts everyone around him, then it becomes a challenge, one that took five seasons to deconstruct.
